Farmer Tabby

Introducing Farmer Tabby, the Co-Founder, Farm Manager, and Child Psychologist behind the heart of Rainbow Road Farm.

Farmer Tabby has been involved in farming for two and a half years, and in that time she has become the steady hand that helps keep the farm running day to day. She works with every animal on the farm and helps guide the rhythm of farm life. From tending to goats and incubating chicks to managing feeding schedules, mucking corrals, cleaning nesting boxes, and caring for the chickens, Farmer Tabby truly does it all.

She also helps teach children about farming, welcoming both autistic and neurotypical kids to learn how animals are cared for and how a farm works. Through patience, knowledge, and kindness, she helps young visitors discover the joy and responsibility that come with caring for animals.

One of Farmer Tabby’s most memorable farm moments came when the goat Cutie delivered her first kids. It was a difficult birth, but Farmer Tabby handled the situation like a seasoned farmer. She administered colostrum and carefully helped the baby goat Halo learn how to latch onto his mama. Her calm leadership helped both mother and baby through a challenging start.

Her favorite animal at the farm is the beloved goat Sweetheart, and you will often see her greeting the herd with affection. Around the farm, Farmer Tabby can usually be spotted in her signature black boots with a rainbow stripe, moving from chore to chore while keeping a watchful eye on the animals.

Farmer Tabby is autistic and has ADHD, often called AuDHD, and she finds that farming brings a special kind of focus and peace to her life. The work keeps her mind active while giving her a clear sense of purpose and calm.

Above all else, she farms because she truly loves it.

If you listen closely around the corral, you will often hear Farmer Tabby greeting the animals with her familiar voice:

Hi Sweetheart, did you miss Mama?
Hi Mamas… Hi my lil goats… Hi big boys.

At Rainbow Road Farm, Farmer Tabby is not only a farmer, she is a caretaker, a teacher, and one of the guiding hearts of the farm.
