Refund and Returns Policy

Scope

This policy covers two categories:

  • Livestock (goats and other live animals)
  • Products (non‑livestock items such as merch, supplies, etc.)

Summary

  • Livestock: Returns are evaluated case‑by‑case depending on the circumstances and animal welfare.
  • Products: 30‑day return window for unused items in original condition and packaging. Used items cannot be returned.

1) Livestock (Goats & Other Live Animals)

General

Sales of live animals are not eligible for automatic returns. However, we understand that unique situations can arise. We will evaluate requests case‑by‑case with the animal’s health, safety, and welfare as our top priority.

How to request a review

  • Email info@rainbowroadfarm.com as soon as possible after pickup/delivery.
  • Include your name, purchase date, animal ID/name, and a brief description of the issue.
  • For health concerns, attach photos/video and (if applicable) a licensed veterinarian’s note.

What we consider (non‑exhaustive)

  • Documented health issues present at delivery/pickup.
  • Material errors in sex, horn status, or clearly described temperament.
  • Serious mismatch discovered immediately despite appropriate handling and integration.

Important conditions

  • Quarantine: Do not introduce the animal to new herds while a return request is under review. For biosecurity, we cannot accept animals that have been mixed into another herd or exposed to contagious conditions.
  • Transport: The buyer is responsible for safe transport to/from the farm; animals must not be shipped back without our written approval.
  • Appointments only: Any return or assessment must be scheduled in advance.
  • Outcomes (at our discretion): options may include guidance, rehoming assistance, exchange for a comparable animal (if available), partial refund, or a full refund. No outcome is guaranteed until confirmed in writing.
  • Timeframe: Please contact us promptly. Where a health concern is suspected, notify us within 48 hours of pickup/delivery to allow timely assessment.

Note: We do not accept returns based on general preference changes, training needs, routine acclimation behaviors, or if the animal has been exposed to disease, neglect, or improper housing/handling after leaving our farm.


2) Products (Non‑Livestock Items)

Return window

Our product refund and returns policy lasts 30 days from the purchase/delivery date. If 30 days have passed, we can’t offer a refund or exchange.

Eligibility

To be eligible, your item must be unused, unworn/unwashed, in the same condition you received it, and in the original packaging with all tags and accessories. Used items cannot be returned. Proof of purchase is required.

Non‑returnable products

  • Perishables (e.g., food, treats, feed, plants).
  • Custom/personalized items or special orders.
  • Health and personal care items once opened.
  • Gift cards and digital/downloadable products.
  • Hazardous materials (if applicable).
  • Sale/clearance items are final sale unless defective on arrival.

Do not send items back without contacting us; returns without authorization may be refused.


How to Start a Return (Products)

  1. Email info@rainbowroadfarm.com with your order number, item(s), and reason for return.
  2. We’ll reply with return authorization and the shipping address.
  3. Pack the item securely in original packaging.

Shipping costs

  • You are responsible for return shipping. Shipping costs are non‑refundable.
  • If a refund is approved, we may deduct the return shipping cost from the refund if we provided a label.
  • For higher‑value items, use a trackable service and consider shipping insurance; we can’t guarantee receipt of returned packages.

Inspections, Refunds & Timing (Products)

  • Once we receive and inspect your return, we’ll email you about approval or rejection.
  • If approved, refunds are issued to your original payment method. Processing times vary by bank/issuer.
  • Partial refunds may be granted for items not in original condition, missing parts, or returned beyond 30 days (when accepted at our discretion).

Late or missing refunds

If you haven’t seen the refund after our confirmation, please check with your bank/issuer. Processing can take several business days. If it still hasn’t posted, contact us at info@rainbowroadfarm.com.


Exchanges

  • Products: We replace items if they are defective or damaged. Email info@rainbowroadfarm.com for an exchange and we will provide the shipping address once authorized.
  • Livestock: Exchanges may be considered case‑by‑case and by appointment only, subject to availability and the conditions above.

Gifts

  • If marked as a gift and shipped directly to you, approved product returns may be issued as store credit.
  • If not marked as a gift (or shipped to the purchaser), refunds go to the original purchaser.
